On news.BBC.com today, this headline and blurb caught my attention:

Unfortunately for everyone who lives in the oblong state, “Illinois” is a rather difficult word to set in type. It’s tall and narrow in the first half, and short and wide in the last half. Are there any fonts out there which handle this name well?
