Firefox 3 interface nitpick

Posted by Heidi on August 27th, 2008 · No Comments

Upgraded to Firefox 3 yesterday. Only one complaint: to get to your recently visited sites, there is only one drop-down next to the Forward button to access them all.

It makes more intuitive sense to me the way IE has it arranged, a drop-down by the Back button for your browsing history and another drop-down by the Forward button to skip ahead (assuming you’ve used the back button to get where you are).

You could argue that getting to your “Recently visited pages” is a function of neither Back nor Forward. Even if this is the reason Firefox decided to use only one drop-down, they erred by visually joining the drop-down with the Forward button. I mentally stumble when I want to go back several pages and the drop-down is not where I intuitively expect it to be.
