I catch a glimpse of a Citgo sign every day to and from work. The station is a mere block from the entrance to my subdivision. Here are the fluctuating prices for Regular from the past 19 days:
- 4.02
- 3.99
- 3.89
- 3.70
- 3.84
- 3.87
- 3.94
- 3.79
- 3.72
- 3.69
This makes an average of one price change every two days. In reality, the longest I’ve seen a price there (since I came home from vacation, anyway) was three and a half days, and a couple of times it’s stuck around for just one day.
What kind of logic do station owners use to change prices this much?
P.S. Ironically, I never buy gas there myself, even when it’s quite cheap for the area.
