Here’s a couple photos of the lizard I nabbed on my patio a couple of weeks ago. She lives in a gap between cinder blocks next to my a/c unit, along with an orange-striped black lizard about the same size. I’m assuming this “antique gold” one is female because the color isn’t as striking as the black one (but I still think she looks nifty).

The other day I glimpsed her by the fence again and noticed that she has a nub instead of a tail now. When I was holding her for these photos, I saw a faint line that I thought might be an indication she has regrown her tail in the past. Wonder what she keeps getting herself into?
And no, it’s not my cat that took the tail off. He just likes to watch the lizards. When I showed him the gold lady in my hand, he was uninterested. Just sniffed a couple of times and then marked my knuckles with his jaw. It’s the birds that he’ll leap at, shoving his paws underneath the fence.

There’s a lizard over there somewhere, I just know it.
