Okay, not really stole it…. just appropriated.
I claimed the Wacom tablet that was in my ex-coworker’s office even before he left. (hehehhe) I was going to snatch it yesterday morning, but a new intern started in that office and I didn’t feel like pulling it out in front of her (”excuse me, pardon me, I need this, not for interns! did I mention that I claimed this?”)
So I grabbed it this morning. Yay! Total desk rearrangement needed to accomodate it (it’s about 24″w x 17″ deep) but I don’t care. As soon as I get the drivers installed, I can use the Wacom mouse instead of my Dell, and then the tablet becomes a HUGE mousepad.
Speaking of the ex-coworker, his supervisor is taking the martyr role even further. He has always been prone to say “I’m just so busy, I got so much to do,” even when we’re all under the same workload, or when he is just immersing himself in one particular task. Well, he’s taking that to another level. He says he’s too busy to interview people to replace the guy who just left (and who, frankly, saved his butt from a lot of work). He also told our office manager, who is coordinating 2 PR interns this summer, that he doesn’t have time to sit down with the graphic design interns that are also here this summer. Say wha-?? I think it’s too much to hope that our “leader” will do anything about it.
In other (happier) news, my virtual life just keeps getting weirder. I got an email today from someone in the Script Clearance department at Sony Pictures in L.A. requesting my contact info, and asking if I was the owner of PositiveBumpers.com, in order to obtain a release to use an “I miss Pluto” bumper sticker “in an upcoming production.” o_O …eh? I did a little due diligence before replying… I couldn’t find any scams of this nature, and the originating IP in the email headers actually returned as Sony Pictures. So I replied, and now I await the formal request.
