A Dragon in Sheep’s Clothing

I hereby declare a new holiday: Mental Health Monday. Take a Monday off whenever you need to clear your brain from work.

So today I took the day off. Yay. Nothing much happened. Slept in. Did one work task here because I’m used to it and didn’t want to give it to someone else on short notice. So I did that.

Hit some President’s Day sales. Bought a hard drive for my PC — my current hard drive has been making intermittent noises and clicks. Better get that fixed before it all dies. Went to a craft store and used a 50% off coupon on some things I’m going to share with my mom. Went to Wal-Mart and waited far too long to print out some 4×6’s from my camera card to send to my uncle.

Then I went home and watched Heroes.

Not a terribly exciting day, but the important thing is the mental break, breaking the rhythm to reignite creativity. It’s that curious good feeling you get from being off work while everyone else is not. It’s being able to relax that much more on Saturday when you know that you have a 3 day weekend. It’s the good feeling from knowing that you only have a 4-day week ahead of you.

We’ll see how long it lasts.
